Governor Mara Lezama attended as a guest at the XV Congress of the Autonomous Confederation of Workers and Employees of Mexico (CATEM), where Claudia Sheinbaum, National Coordinator of the Committees for the Defense of the Fourth Transformation, was also present.
During the event in Mexico City, the governor of Quintana Roo reiterated her full support and collaboration with Claudia Sheinbaum, whom she accompanied on the dais along with other officials and the leader of Morena, Mario Delgado. The CATEM congress is a space for dialogue with union representatives to improve the working conditions of workers, especially those in Quintana Roo.
This union, which emerged 15 years ago, has around 7 million members in 1,192 labor organizations from various sectors.
“Thank you, Dr. Claudia Sheinbaum, for dedicating part of your agenda. First, you governed my land, of which I am a proud Tlalpense, then you governed this city where we are now, and soon you will see what will happen, a first-class woman, thank you very much, dear friend,” said Pedro Haces, union leader.
Sheinbaum responded with the formal announcement of a coalition with that labor union.
“Next Monday, we will begin the formal pre-campaign process for the Presidency of the Republic, and I want to extend this invitation to accompany us in this process. I am committed to continuing to defend the salary and labor benefits of workers because we know that if workers do well, so do the employers and Mexico.”
