IV Energy Security Dialogue Between Angola and the United States
On June 13, the IV Energy Security Dialogue between Angola and the United States was held at the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Petroleum, and Gas in Luanda. The purpose of this meeting was to discuss strategies for enhancing energy security in Angola, particularly in relation to energy production and electricity access.
The Angolan delegation was led by João Baptista Borges, Minister of Energy and Water, while the U.S. delegation was headed by Geoffrey Pyatt, Assistant Secretary for Energy Resources.
The Energy Security Dialogue (ESD) focused on topics such as ensuring a reliable and stable energy supply and fostering commercial collaborations in this area.
The discussions between João Baptista Borges and Geoffrey Pyatt centered on achieving a secure energy supply, strengthening trade relations in the energy sector, and tackling wider energy security issues.
Attendees at the meeting included José Barroso, the Angolan Secretary of State for Petroleum; Pedro Afonso, Chairman of PRODEL-EP; Rui Gourgel, Chairman of RNT-EP; Helder Adão, Chairman of ENDE; Sebastião Martins, Chairman of Sonangol; José Quarta, Board Representative of IRSEA; and representatives from ANPG.
