Chiefs’ Travis Kelce Left Impressed by NY Giants Rookie

NOT TO BE MISSED

Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce recently attended the highly anticipated Tight End University, a gathering of some of the best tight ends in the NFL. While there, Kelce had the opportunity to work with and observe the up-and-coming talent in the league, including New York Giants rookie Thomas Fidone. And it seems that Kelce was thoroughly impressed with what he saw from the young tight end.

In an interview with reporters, Kelce had nothing but praise for Fidone, stating, “He’s a special talent. I was really impressed with his skills and his work ethic. He’s definitely going to make an impact in the league.”

Coming from a seasoned veteran like Kelce, these words carry a lot of weight. Kelce himself is considered one of the best tight ends in the NFL, having been selected to the Pro Bowl six times and being named First-Team All-Pro twice. So when he speaks highly of a rookie, it’s definitely something to take note of.

But what exactly impressed Kelce about Fidone? For one, it seems that Fidone’s physical abilities caught his attention. Standing at 6’5″ and weighing in at 250 pounds, Fidone has the ideal size for a tight end in the NFL. And according to Kelce, he has the skills to match.

“He’s got great speed and agility for his size,” Kelce remarked. “He’s able to make quick cuts and create separation from defenders. And his hands are like glue, he catches everything thrown his way.”

But it wasn’t just Fidone’s physical attributes that stood out to Kelce. He also noted the rookie’s work ethic and dedication to improving his game.

“He’s a hard worker, you can tell he puts in the time and effort to perfect his craft,” Kelce said. “He’s always asking questions and seeking advice from the more experienced guys. That’s a sign of a true professional.”

It’s clear that Kelce sees a lot of potential in Fidone and believes that he has what it takes to succeed in the NFL. And Fidone himself couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to learn from one of the best in the business.

“It’s an honor to have someone like Travis Kelce recognize my skills and offer words of encouragement,” Fidone said. “I’ve looked up to him and his game for a long time, so to have his approval means a lot to me.”

Fidone, who was selected by the Giants in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft, is eager to prove himself in the league and make an impact for his team. And with the support and guidance of players like Kelce, he is well on his way to achieving that goal.

The Tight End University, organized by Kelce, George Kittle, and Greg Olsen, was a unique opportunity for tight ends to come together and learn from each other. And for Fidone, it was an experience he will never forget.

“I learned so much from the other tight ends at the university, but having Travis Kelce as a mentor was definitely a highlight for me,” Fidone shared. “I’m excited to take what I’ve learned and apply it to my game with the Giants.”

As the NFL season approaches, all eyes will be on Fidone to see how he performs on the field. But with the support and encouragement of players like Kelce, it’s safe to say that Fidone has a bright future ahead of him in the league. And who knows, maybe one day he will be the one mentoring and inspiring the next generation of tight ends at the Tight End University.
